Organization

Our organization is bound by the by-laws that were set in place in 1964, when the Gates Volunteer Ambulance was founded. Over the past 46 years, these laws have help to manage our business. They provide for the building, the equipment and the personnel to manage them.

The line officer in charge of the day-to-day operations of the ambulance is the Chief. He or she has the responsibility to ensure that the ambulances are staffed, operational and have all the appropriate equipment . The Chief is the key person in charge of managing the resources that Gates Ambulance has. The Deputy Chief reports directly to the Chief and may act on his behalf in his absence. Additionally there is a Operations Manager and Deputy Operations Manager that help run this department. Operations may be reached at operations@gatesems.org.

The Training Manager is in charge of implementation and management of all continuing medical education and certifications. The Training department will help get you into a CPR, CFR or EMT class at Gates or elsewhere in the county. The training department may be reached at training@gatesems.org.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the corporation. They have ownership of the resources of Gates Ambulance, and dictate the purchase of new ambulances, equipment or facilities. They also can approve or reject members and employees. Finally, the Board of Directors is in charge of the finances of the Corporation. They may be reached at board@gatesems.org.
